Your Role
As a Senior Databricks Data Engineer, you are responsible for designing, building, and optimizing modern data platforms that enable organizations to unlock the full value of their data. You combine deep expertise in Databricks, Spark, and cloud-based data ecosystems with a passion for delivering scalable, reliable, and business-focused solutions. Working closely with data architects, analytics specialists, AI experts, and client stakeholders, you help build data foundations that power analytics, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation initiatives. This role sits within our Data & AI community, where data engineering forms the backbone of trusted and scalable data ecosystems.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Designing and developing scalable data pipelines and processing frameworks using Databricks, Apache Spark, and cloud-native technologies.
- Building and optimizing data transformation solutions using PySpark, SQL, and modern data engineering best practices.
- Implementing lakehouse architectures and Delta Lake capabilities to support reliable, governed, and high-performance data platforms.
- Ensuring data quality, availability, scalability, and operational excellence across enterprise data environments.
- Collaborating with architects, data engineers, analysts, and AI teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions aligned with business objectives.
- Driving continuous improvement through automation, performance optimization, and adoption of emerging Data & AI technologies.
Your Profile
We are looking for an experienced data engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, thrives in collaborative environments, and is passionate about building modern data platforms that create business value.
- Extensive experience as a Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks within enterprise environments.
- Proven experience with Apache Spark, PySpark, SQL, and large-scale data processing solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern data platform concepts, including lakehouse architectures, Delta Lake, data modelling, and cloud-based data ecosystems.
- Professional working proficiency in English and Dutch is required. Knowledge of French is a strong advantage.
